I started a Woodworking Courses

Today I started a class furniture maker. My plan is to use the skills I will learn during class to use in my mini hobby.

The first thing we did today was making al lot of cuts in a piece of wood. This is to exercise to cut straight. That was not easy.

Later today we started to make our first wood connections. The connections we made today:
-a Half lap connection

-a Cross lap connection  

 

Next week we will make a Dovetail crossed lap connection. Also we will whet our chisels taken from home.

Also we will learn how to sharpen a chisel. Therfore we can take our own chisels from home. This is definitely a necessity for my chisels. In the past we did use them for more than alone woodworking.
They are handy for open cans of paint, or even paint stirring.
I think after next week I will value them more and use them where they are  made for.
