Fifth class Furniture Maker

Look what I took home today.
A cutting board made out of cherrywood. I am very pleased with the result.

Last week I wrote that we glued some boards together.

 Today we worked with the bench plane on this board. Almost the whole 3 hour of our class.
On the workbench you see three different planes. We have worked with all three of them. Even to finish the end faces there is a special plane to work with.
After that we used sandpaper on the end faces. Then we finished the board with paraffin wax which seals the wood.
Now I can use the cutting board in the kitchen.

    Geweldige cursus! Prachtig plankje wat je mee naar huis genomen hebt. Maar de kennis aan technieken die je meeneemt is nog mooier!

      Dat klopt Josje. Het is geweldig de kennis die je tijdens zo'n cursus op doet. Je gaat hierdoor anders met hout om. Op dit moment doe ik niet veel in mini met hout. De geleerde verbindingen etc. ga ik zeker ook in mini uit voeren.
