Workshops to finish, The Quilt, part 2

Two weeks ago I started together with Thea to make the quilt workshop from Marjo. The paper hexagons are send to me by Kitty. She did cut them with the cameo plotter. For today we would try to finish one flower.

This is my flower. I used a piece of all the fabrics I choose. This flower is just a try-out. Just to see how the fabrics work. Now it is not clear for me which parts of fabric I will keep using.

The first thing I did two weeks ago was sticking the hexagons on the fabric with a small piece of Scotch tape.

After that I started stitching the hexagons. Soon I discovered that some of my fabrics are not suitable for this work. Which meant I had to go to the store to buy some different fabrics. Also it is important that you cut the fabric big enough otherwise you get trouble to make a nice cover.

Today we did continue. I did some more try-outs with the new fabrics. Send pictures to Thea. Received pictures from Thea. Discussing the fabrics. We both had the same problem. Which fabric will I use.
One thing I know for sure, I wil not make a  flowers quilt. I'll make a quilt with two big rounds of several fabrics.

The goes and no goes together. The bottom left corner are the no goes. The top right is a start on how it will be.

This is a great way of working together alone.
The next appointment is in two weeks. Then we move on.
