Our neighbors are very active geocahers. When there is time hikes are made with the aim of finding a cache.
They themselves already placed some caches.
At present they are working at some special caches. Using some historical information of places in this neighborhood in order to make the walk even more interesting.
They asked me if I could be of some help.
It all started with a simple birdhouse that was painted gray. Not the best color to hide in the forest. For a more natural effect I treated the birdhouse with Rustin's wood dye.
Then the fun part started. The birdhouse had to be transformed in an outhouse.
The tray is meant to insert coins or trackables.
Even a spider and a mouse are already living in the house.
The last visitor of this house did forgot his cigarette I believe.
We do hope that this outhouse will have a long life in the forest!

ReplyDeleteHI, Just read your post about geo cashing. My son in Vancouver Canada makes sure the two geocaches he has established for children are kept up and have small treasures enclosed. I think it would be fun to do a miniature interior for one - such a magical find for children. It will be my project for the next couple of months.

We zijn al heel vaak vogelhuisjes tegen gekomen bij het geocachen, maar nog nooit zo mooi als deze.
ReplyDeleteIk hoop dat het heel lang zal blijven bestaan en dat er veel cachers van zullen mogen genieten.
En wie weet komen we deze ook ooit eens tegen op onze tochten.
